Google Android Tap Doodles

Since 2015, users of Android Pay (now Google Pay) have been treated with “Tap Doodle” animations featuring the iconic Android Bot. I had the privilege of working with Google + Very True Story on several of their different projects. The highlight of these being a crossover campaign between DC Justice League and Android featuring The Bot as a variety of DC Superheroes. We also focused on winter holidays including Lunar New Year.

My role was Animator + Illustrator, though it varied between projects. These animations were all designed in Illustrator, animated in After Effects and then exported as Lottie files. Many of these early animations were done before Lottie integrated shape layers, so there was an added challenge of using only pngs.
